Snap frozen tissue
Snap frozen tissue samples provide an alternative to fresh tissue. Samples are frozen as soon as possible after resection.
Examples of stored tissue samples include:-
- Abdominal skin
- Tumour and matching normal
- Disease states
- Paediatric disease e.g. Biliary Atresia
Frozen tissues are stored in liquid nitrogen or in a minus 80 freezer
