School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership

The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership provides programmes of study in nursing, health and wellbeing, public health and healthcare leadership at undergraduate and post graduate levels for all health and social care professionals. 

Our Nursing programmes are accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Postgraduate programmes are available for all health professionals and where appropriate accredited by other regulatory bodies (HCPC, GPhC).

The BSc (Hons) Nursing programme includes clinical placements between 6 and 12 weeks, over the three years of the programme. There is opportunity to develop crucial practical skills in our cutting-edge simulation suites, which feature robots that simulate the symptoms and characteristics of seriously ill people in preparation for placements. There is opportunity for postgraduate study in a number of specialisms to support the development of professional careers.

The BSc (Hons) Public Health and Community Wellbeing programme offers opportunity for work-based learning in a variety of health and social care environments, preparing students for the world of work on graduation.

Our postgraduate Healthcare Leadership and Public Health programmes are well recognised as providing essential education for leaders and managers of health and social care across the community.   

We also have an site at Dewsbury Mid Yorks hospital at the Oakwell Centre where we have another School of Nursing based.
